The Dymax IQ Mini Skimmer Aquarium is an air-driven mini skimmer that is a great addition to any aquarium, not just the Dymax IQ5&7. The wooden airstone diffuses air into very small air bubbles, and the air bubbles rise through the water, removing protein waste. The waste foam is produced above the water level and rises into the collection cup via the foam tube. The main difference between this and other types of biological filtration is that waste particles and toxic compounds are completely removed from the aquarium. It is an easy clip-on device that is suitable for most mini tanks.
