The BOYU Activated Carbon also known as Activated Charcoal, and it's a necessary filter media for any aquarium. It can effectively remove odors, detoxify harmful metals, and purify and soften water. After rinsing the charcoal with water, place it in the filter casing, and it will begin working immediately. After three months, it should be replaced.

Caution: Please remove the charcoal while your fish is being treated medically, and then replace it once your fish has fully recovered.
